I've only tried this game and Zelda Twilight Princess so far on the new Dolphin 5.0, so I don't know how my other games hold up, but ZTP holds up with the hyrule speed hack, and is pretty much very stable all around even at top settings 3x native, AA, and everything, however, Paper Mario TTYD is literally unplayable on any settings. The game has unbearable lag during paper effects, and some areas just flat out lag in general. Using the 16:9 Aspect Ratio AR code has fixed most of the lag in general areas, but the paper effects are still unbearable. So far the only thing that makes the game even remotely playable is switching to 1x native, but it just still not a satisfying experience, might as well just buy a gamecube and play the game there.
I tried switching back to older builds, 4.0.2, and 4.0, and the game is more stable there, but there is noticeable graphic issues, no matter what backend I choose. OpenGL gives the most accurate gfx and is most stable on 5.0, but is laggy and has graphical issues on any previous builds, while Dx11 is unstable on all builds, it crashes on some scenes no matter what and lags anyway, and Dx9 has horrid graphic issues compared to all the others. My GPU doesn't support Dx12, so no luck going there.
I swear I tried every little setting dolphin as available, switching between and combinations, and no luck with Paper Mario TTYD. Am I just going to have to accept this and move on? Any help?
My specs are:
AMD Phenom II x4 955 (quad core clocked at 3.2 ghz)
8GB DDR3 RAM (don't know brand, but so far had no issues)
ATI Radeon HD5850 (doesn't support Dx12, sadly)
1.5TB HDD
120GB SSD
Asus Motherboard
750w Corsair Power Supply (brand new with no failures at all so far)
Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
