|
Frame rate (FPS)[edit]
- The game was designed to run at 60 FPS[citation needed] and has problems of varying severity at framerates higher or lower than 60. Below 60 the player may clip into cars, which can pose an issue in many destruction missions.
- Above 60 FPS both player and car physics are negatively affected, causing cars to fly off edges at uncontrollable speeds and the player character to be able to jump higher than originally intended. In some cases at excessively high frame rates, the game can blue screen playing loud static sounds.
Frame Limiter Mod[citation needed] |
---|
- Use Lucas' Simpsons Hit & Run Mod Launcher.
- Enable Frame Limiter and select it.
- Click Mod Settings and change settings if needed.
Notes - Frame Limiter is set to 60 FPS by default.
- The frame limiter does not fully cap the game to your selected FPS and will likely be running at a slightly higher FPS than specified in the ini.
- Capping the frame rate on loading screens will negatively affect load times.

It's September 2003.
You either finished school, university or work and rushed home to turn on your console to make Homer Simpson drive to the Kwik-E-Mart, but obviously making sure you run over at least 12 pedestrians en route.
Life was good.
'The Simpsons: Hit & Run' was one of the most iconic, yet nostalgic video games of the 21st century.
It was rumoured that a remastered version of the game would hit store shelves, however, this never materialised, but it appears that somebody has taken matters into their own hands.
On the gaming platform 'Dreams', a user by the handle of 'ReivaJKH' has designed his very own take on the game that brought endless hours of fun to boys and girls across the world.
Currently, this is the only similar Simpsons-styled game on the market that allows you to play and complete missions much like the original game itself. Nevertheless, game developer John McGinn spoke to GAME and refused to completely close the door on the idea.

'Of course [I'd love a remake/remaster] - I would love to have it myself on my Nintendo Switch! Having said that, the PC version - if you can find it - not only works on modern versions of Windows, it is compatible with some pretty amazing mods.'
Vlad Ceraldi, a game producer, has also commented on his desire to re-create a form of 'The Simpsons: Hit and Run', as he stated that the game could be very popular on multiple different platforms.
'I could see it on multiple different types of platforms as a remake or remaster.
'It would have to take the parties who are in charge of the property to want that to happen and someone out there to decide that they were going to go out and do it. But absolutely, it would be fun to explore those characters and that universe again, that work again.'
